You don't need twins. Of course they're nice but you don't need them.


I used to ride backwards on my straight skis all the time (and these things were vintage man). I did 180s and shit. I was like 10 but still... you don't need twins.

I have a friend who used to have (up to about a month and a half ago) a pair of crappy single tipped skis (missing an edge). He did 900s and shit off BIG jumps on them, misty 7s, backflips, 720s, rodeos, etc. Of course he still does all those tricks... but proof you don't need twins. He could clean any rail (and still does on his new skis).

my twins hadnt arrived yet early season so i was doing 5s and shit with my supercrosses. its scary though you dont know if ur going to die or not

i bet someone, maybe even me, could go down switch on a quarter pipe, if it was only like 5 feet or 6 feet tall. without twinwips. yea it would be ahrd and you wouldnt do it the first time, youd just really have to be leanign forward like 100% so you ride on your tips the whole way down....ill see if i can get a pic or something up to show yous....

u guys (play and jcdunn) are both being gay shut up. Nice work award goes out to jcdunn for ending it. The dick award goes out to play for...being a dick. You dont need them to much but they sure help confidence and just are able to ski better switch. Plus the twin-tip flexz for park and all mountain are nice. I see where your comng from though....i learned 1's on non-twins also.

twintips are a necessity for riding switch quickly and confidently in any sort of variable snow conditions. additionally, try taking off switch wiffout twintips. it would be madd difficult because of where your weight is when you pop. i'm pretty sure you'd die.

if you say your friend does 9s then im sure he def not ridin that shit out which is understable. Hes probably landing sw and then reverting VERY quickly-which is the point for a skis that are single tipped in case a beginner fucks up.

I used to ski on a pair of mid-fat non twin tips, They were so stable riding switch I preferred trying switch jumps with them opposed to my twins, i just wouldn't land switch with them, i'd spin 5's and shit to land forward,
