so im sittin in math today right and this girl showed me a tattoo she did herself with a sewing needle and india ink. it looked really well done and hasnt faded at all in 2 years. so im thinkin of doing one myself, anyone else done their own tattoos or have any helpful information?
listen, a tattoo is PERMANENT. therefore, why risk doing it yourself and screwing it up. or, why risk going to a shitty tat parlor just so you can get work done for cheap. if you really want a tattoo, save some money and check out a few different shops. talk to different artists and look at their albums of past work to see if you like their style. so many people just walk into the cheapest place they can find and pick something off the wall...this is exactly why so many people hate their tattoos. it's a big decision, so take you time and do it right.
so friggin true...my sister just wlked in and got a cross with her birthstone int he middle on her lower back and she wants to change like the colors and shit know.......wait a while till u know exactly what u want
yea or like...try doing it while getting dragged behind a car or something...i thought i heard that some where it kind of calms u so ur hand is steadier...maybe it was while having sex......i dunno try both...if u mess up just scribble it out and start again somewhere else no harm done
stomp it and be like "bitch, suck me now" to the closest girl around -1080chubs

well i have thought about what i wanted and i am an artist in fact after i finish my final year of highschool ill be going to college for art and ive sold paintings so i was thinking of doing it myself so i know that ill be getting exactly what i want
or you could do it jackass/steve-o style and do it in a hummer going over whoops, or better yet, do it on the thing youd get a hummer on,

word is, 90 % of people regret evergetting a tatoo. it seams like the only logical ones are the kind that commemorate a lost friend, or really express your true life desires. don't just get some random picture you think is nice or youll be pissed in the long run...
^i guess that's a good point but first im going to draw what i want on paper then ill outline on my skin with a thin maker then go over it by pokin my skin with the needle dipped in ink- apparently it doesnt hurt as much and it works well
i have a half sleeve of a beheaded fetus on my right are holding its own head between its legs sittling indian style and with a bunch of other disturbing crazy shit and i will never hate it i love it i cam up with it myself but i would never in my life ever tatto myself of let someone else do it unless professionally. even if you are a art major student. tattooing and drawing or painting pictures is 100 percent different

i say you need to brand urself and knock some sence into that brain of yours. get a wood burning set thing and use the tool that heats up to make designs in the wood. then use that on your skin... works awesome and looks 10 times cooler

most tattoos...are stupid...people are unoriginal. it seems like everyone has a tattoo on their lower back, or hip...and its either a star, snowflake, butterfly, or chinese writing...BUT there are also a large majority of people who have the greatest tattoos ever. super creative, super thought out, they dont just get the tattoos to be cool or whatever.
Definitley do it yourself. If you are confident in your skills you will do a sick job. I gave myself a small tatoo in biology once while working with tatoo dye for some lab. It turned into a scab and fell off. Make sure you do it right.
my brother and all his friends just got tatoo's in memory of thier friend who got killed on his motorcycle on the highway, he was only 17 ..sad shit man personlly i wouldnt get a tat if it wasnt important liek that
I've got a snowflake on my lower back it's friggin badass as. I designed it myself and got it all professionally done. Been thinking about it for like 4 years and finally just went and did it with a friend of mine. It's all dark ont he inside and shades to nothing in the middle, looks wicked as. And chicks lurve it. Good on the lower back coz it's so easy to hide and I can't see it myself so I can't hate it, I don't even know it's there. But yeh dude, think about it carefully, totally design it yourself but get someone professional to actually do it.

that most be the dumbest idea i have EVER heard.....and beleive me i have heard some dumb ideas.......why would you do that?holy shit are u serious? u are going to fuck up o bad and have this hidious tattoo on you for life.....here is a tip....do it on your forhead and spell out TOOL.....
A LESSON FROM A HARDCORE SMOKER:
if your really hardcore you can just smoke out of your hands. make a loose fist but keep your fingers together and pack the entire empty space in the middle with herb. then open up your pinky finger enough so that the herb doesnt fall out but you can light it. then just breath in from the top hole and ull get mad respect -eastar5
as was already said, remember they are permanent, even though there are removal services now, they don't always work (some inks cannot be removed) and they hurt about 10 times more than getting it done (and you have to have th treatment multiple times) and they leave scar tissue where the tat was. There are some tips though, one is to figure out what you want and hang a picture of it somewhere you'll see it all the time, if you get bored with the image after a while, do not get it. Furthermore, do not do it yourself, I've seen so many india ink tats turn out horible and they can be a bitch to cover (also many people are rather succeptable to reactions from india ink).
I would also highly recomend getting something unique and something with meaning to you. Since it is permanent, there should be some absolute meaning to you, not just a fly by night though or a random picture off the wall (the only flash tat I have is one where I went in, described what I wanted, and the flash just happened to matched it almost identically, a little bit of tweaking and it was dead on).
One trick, if money is an issue and you are an artist, talk to the shop and show them some of your drawings and see if you can trade some drawings for work (I know a few people that have done that). Remember, with tatoo's, you really do get what you pay for (typically), and there are more hacks out there than there are quality artists. Expect to pay around $100 an hour for quality work (hell I know a couple people who get in the range of $300-500 an hour).
^this is kind of like what you saidabout the picture thing, but I thik some tatoo parlors will give you your tatoo, but make it not perminent to see if you like it. Even if tou dont get it dont at the parlor, you can still have an idea about what it will look like.
