Best carving twintip
what is the best carving twin tip that is out there and stiff? i ski alot of hard stuff here in ohio.
Dynastar Troublemakers are a good ski and there fairly stiff. Also the Seth Pistols from K2 are good for what you want.
For now I'd agree with sean, the Max Trix is this years best carving ski, but if your gonna wait until next year I heard the Vicious has better handling on hardpack and has the new progressive side-cut which allows to ski to "dig" into the snow at the beginning of the turn and hold you in better and doesnt let you washout or go out of control as easily.
You think a 97mm waist ski is going to outdo the mad trix for carving? Well done, I'm laughing. Anyways, there was a thread on this recently by someone named carve_89, go have a look for it.

i have the trubs, they work nicely for me and i'm skiing ice most of the time... but they definately aren't that stiff to whoever said that. they're really flexible
check out the salomon foils the sidecut is huuge

i'd buy a dream ship...it goes anyw
atomic tweaks or mad trix..two of the stiffest twins out
tweaks are awsome for carving
-SKI 4 LIFE-
none after you slide rails with them, i was thinking about carving when i bought trouble makers, no i don't give a shit
Its only for decoration thats it and thats all
What goes on in the gondala stays in the gondala
the problem i have heard with the tweaks are that the bindings are really heavy for the park. is this true.....thanx for the respnses
i think this years tweaks didn't have the integrated binding system on them, so you can get whatever bindings you want.
^ sean is right. i called a shop about them a couple of days ago and the dude said i could put any binding i wanted on it.
I have tweaks and live in Michigan so the snow is pretty close to the same. I love them, they are stiff, light (i have p12's on them) and carve great. They also rocked out west too. I say get the tweaks.
get the salomon candides. i skied on some of symms's at the open. they are fucking awsome for actual carving

CHRONICS OR SKOGENS!!!!!!!!
If your gona crave buy some racing skis or some other shit, you don't use twins to carve, they are just not that kind of ski. I have the Mad Trix which is pretty much the stiffest ski out there, but it sucks to carve compaired to the worst racing ski. you don't need to carve in thepark.
I like soup....
chronics for carving? are you kidding?
tweaks though I hate that ski, and you can put any binding on it just don't think you will be able to butter or anything on them
Im still afloat, i aint the captain of tha yact but im on the boat
I aint actin what im not
Knowin that i dont
not everyone can afford 10 pairs of skis to suit their every need. some people can only afford one (such as myself). i use my pistols for powder, park, and yes... carving on hardpack.
I would suggest Fisher's airstyle.Super stiff ski with the soliditity of a God.
will putting a different binding on the atomics cause any problems with the warrante?
why would it? if you break the binding, atomic isn't going to warranty it. if you break the ski then yeah.. what kind of question is that?
haha carving skiing go race or grow some balls and ge prophets or elizbeths mainly elizbiths
'kevin whyed nils pull you out?' 'Cuz i was touchin bitches.' 'No seriously why did he put scott in for you.' 'Scott doesn't touch bitches.'
Finally someone mentioned Volkl, I'd say the V-skis are about the stiffest freeride skis right now, they are durable and have stiff attack power like no other ski made, and the '06 lineup makes me want to have sex with the designers.....all of them.....at once, the whole lineup absolutely kicks ass. And whoever said the Trouble Makers were stiff is a damn moron and should be on skiboards.

The Karmas are great, but for carving on hard stuff I liked the Elan twins even better
If you can get your hands on some of the scott p2s, they hold a great edge for a twin, and are quite stiff.Waist on them is like 74 or 72, quite skinny.
Yeah, I'll second the Scott P2's
amazingly snappy, quick turns and good edge hold.
Mine are a little short and have a 14.4m radius (almost feels like a slalom ski)
I've been spoiled by the ski, but now that it's time for something new, I can't find anything similar out there.
Like I said earlier, the Elan M02 is the best I've found for carving (I liked it at 175cm, 16m radius)
If you go down to 165cm, the turning radius is only 13.5m!
I have not been able to demo the new Scott P3's (but somebody on here said they could be the same as the Elan's?) The dimensions are identical...
cr labs by salomon it is from salomons race room yeah beat that
race room really isnt that big of a deal, especialy from salomon whos race bases arent all that incredible.
I think Fischer used to make Salomon's Lab skis. I know for a fact Fischer is making Salomon's new nordic lineup.
cr lab skis are made for carving up the pipe walls. they have a smaller sidecut. they would probably be not too bad.
Exactly. Tweaks would be my pick. They are awesome. Mad trix are nasty too. both are sturdy and tough to break. Either of these is a fine choice
Ski. Eat. Sex. Sleep. Ski. What else is there?
thanx a ton do the tweaks have any problem de4laming like the scratchs do?
oh and with the tweaks would i need an extra wide brake or not....i dont think i would but will you reconfirm that.
public enemys are great for carving
public television represent
PE's aren't as good because they don't take wax well. What fun is carving when you're slow.
My choice is Karma.
CR's are pretty sick.
The LAB bases are Salomon and not Fisher. And those bases are the reason why those guys are boosting more then anybody else is out of the pipe.
As for best carving .... You guys have got to try the new 1080 FOILS.
I just skied it this past weekend and it's hands down the ski I'm getting next year. That ski impressed me and I used to race.
It's by far the most progressive ski I ridden - versitile au max tabarnac!!!
atomic tweaks are good for sure, they'd be my pick and im from wi.
fat people should avoid buffets
Anybody have some tweaks they would like 2 sell?
