anybody feel like teaching me how to calculate the dimension of the null space of a matrix? or how to calculate and determine eigenvectors and eigenvalues? i hate college testing. tests are the only thing that count too, since there's no assignments, or any of that crap anymore. i don't know what the hell to do. i hate being a lazy idiot that wastes all his time on ns.com. gah...
I agree... I hate tests! i've been on ns and msn all night instead of studying for my zoo quiz and stats midterm. also just got my mark for a midterm i thought was super easy... i got 65. I don't know what's wrong, I'm working just as hard as I normally do but lately all my marks have been WAY lower than normal.

Eigenvalues are from (lambdaI-Ax) and then eigenvectors are found by plugging the lambdas back into the matrix.
as in a 2 by 2: if Matrix A is say:
then you go
lambda - 2 -4
-3 lambda - 5
take the determinant
in this case:
(lambda - 2)*(lambda - 5) + 12.
Now i just used random numbers and this shit may get you complex eigenvalues and i dont know if you have dealt with that, but most likely you will get nice numbers that they have predetermined. Then you put those lambdas you solve for from the quadratic and put each one into the lambda matrix above. You then do row operations to get the identity and get your vectors out of that. I hope that helped. The vectors part probably didnt.
