i think you're talking about the Mason Dixon line which i believe was the line drawn to seperate the territories of the north and south during the cival war.

yea, what he said... it was the boarder between the north and the south during (and in the days leading up to) the civil war. it was like the southern boarder of penn. and around there - washington d.c. was just north of it...

did you know that the civil war wasn't actually based on slavery at the start, or really during the war at all? it was just something that went along with the war.
