The Ozone Hole

There is no longer any need to worry about the ozone hole. Australian Scientists have made a new discovery with evidence proving that the infamous ozone hole is now in recession. THats right, it is shrinking, and it is predicted that by 2050 it will be completly gone. At present, it is 3 times the size of Australia, but is decreasing in size at what scientists call a rapid rate. This is excellent news, as the ozone hole is the leading cause of Global Warming. Global Warming leads to shitty ski seasons. Less Global Warming means better/more skiing.

but if global warming continues to grow anymore, scientists are predicting it will engulf the gulf stream, stopping the flow of hot air to north america, dropping average temps 10-15 degrees

true, that is a theory. But whatever, as for now Global Warming Sucks. And global warming isnt the only problem solved by an ozone hole recession. In Southern Chile, 75% of the population has the worst form of Skin Cancer. That could become a global problem.

actually, I am pretty sure that the ozone doesnt affect global warming. Ozone blocks out the harmful radiation from the sun, without ozone, plants would likely die (from the radiation), and therefore we would also (no food source or source of oxygen). The main cause of global warming however, is the increasing levels of carbon dioxide. It allows the heat to pass throught the atmosphere, but holds it in on its way out. Some co2 is good, but because of increasing pollution, there is too much co2 in the atmosphere, trapping more heat in and causing temperatures to rise.

(trust me, the '' things aren't actually there)

In the class on Atmospheric Sciences I took, we had a guess lecture by one of the scientists who helped discover that CFCs were creating the o-zone hole in the south pole. He did mention that it is closing now, but it's looking like a hole is starting to form over the north pole.

They use something called a sunphotometer i think, it meausres the amount of radiation, by comparing the levels in other areas as well as taking the readings in space they can tell. atleast that is one of the ways.
