it's odd, i thought concilers and shit were suppose to help you at your high school, it seems they jsut keep telling me to drop out....they've really been pushing me to try to leave. it's pretty much bull shit....now i have the urdge to graduate jsut to throw it in their faces....those fucking bitches......what the fuck is that shit, any other school have this shit happening? cuz honestly i think it's bull shit, heritage high scholl in littleton colorado is the shittiest school ever!

Ehhh, that kinda happens, its bullshit but sometimes they just give up. At my old HS they used to ship ppl that they didnt like to some 'alternative school.' HS is such bullshit anyways, just graduate and have fun while you're there.

**Then go to CMC for a year and transfer to CSU if your grades werent the best.

yea our school has a lot of super seniors this year and i was talking to this one guy and he said his counselor told him he should just drop out do soething else for a while and try and get a GED someother time. If he doesnt pass 9 credits this year he cant graduate.

Well duh isn't that the logical step? You need to learn how to absorb and retain information. In elementary you learn by repitition and mimicking the teacher, middle school you start reading more for yourself, but the reading will be guided by the teacher, highschool you listen to lecture and do even more reading by yourself. This acclamation of procedure is appropriate so you can start comprehending and practice the knowledge you're going to gain in college. Methods such as lecture and independant reading are much more efficient in inducing comprehension. So by the time you have the most efficient means in your quiver, then you start learning about what you want.

i see lots of stuff you learn as a waste of time though. Why should i know advanced algebra? And its not high school that pisses me off its what colleges look for to get in. I wish i could just quit math at geometry and take sciecne and history credits instead or something. Bitchass do you graduate this year?

done with biology chemistry ill have to take but not physics. Astronomy environmental sciences and classes like that at my school at least are pertty easy. in environmental you go wakl around creeks and take water samples and test the mud at the bottom of creeks and stuff. Astronomy teacher is the easiest teacher here. What i was saying is there really isnt a time that you will use advanced algebra or some other math classes ever.

Besides being a requirement for University, Highschool doesn't really have a purpose. You might say that highschool educates us on the historical, sociological, scientific, linguistical etc. elements of life, and that these elements help maintain the memory bank of knowledge that each human being has the right and responsibility to maintain in order to achieve some greater purpose in life. I call it bullshit. I graduated from highschool. Can I get a good job?... Has Highschool given me any career choices? hmmmm, lets look at it... nope, Infact the only stores that would even look at my resume were fastfood chians, gas stations, warehouses/ and door-to-door marketing firms. I wouldn't like to call any of these employment oppotunities career choices. As I see it 13 years of my life just passed me by. Does knowing About Leif Ericson, some Viking King ,really help me get a job? or how about knowing about parabolas and quadratic equations? THe list of worthless information goes on ... all of us know that most of Highschool is irrelevant, unless of course you actually believe that Having useless knowledge is not only beneficial, but also interesting. I respect that. But let me say one more thing. What percentage of high school students go to School to school to get a grade, and how many go becuaes they are interested in what they are learning and dont even care what there grade is in any class?.. you figure it out. As I said before , Besides being a requirment for college or University, Highschool wihtholds very little, if any value.

Well you're going to use math if you want to have any career in an engineering field. And if you don't have a head for management in business, it's the most direct way to make a lot of money.

Gravteck, high school is also a living hell for accelerated students who see no purpose behind the senseless wasting of their time. It's also meaningless for all those who have realized and reject the contemporary model of living, i.e. education, get a job, get married, retire, die.

Well you have to view hs as a utilitarian organization: greatest good for the most people. I have always been an accellerated student, hell my school ran out of math for me to take after my first jr semester. I didn't think it was bad... shit AP was even easy, more time to just socialize and jack around. There is a big harm in not providing a system that provides a future for contemporary living; if you had even more people rejecting contemporary lifestyle, a very large percentage of people can't be successful outside of that lifestyle... that inability to live the other lifestyles, and now your behind in the contemporary world... well that equals a living hell too.

the point of high school is to prepare you scholars for college.

To prepare you for the huge increase in drugs, drinking, fucking and partying your gonna be doin in college, thats what I get out of it anyways.

im in the same boat as darryl...no need for a counselor...although i had one as a teacher once, wanted to kick her teeth in i did...but it is relaxing to know that however much i fail in life i can become a highschool counselor, because it doesn't take shit to be one.

gravtek that is what every math teaher i have had has said. I would never ever be an engineer. And i think kami summed it up best that people that dont want to get a job get married and die cant stand high school along with really smart people. I just wish you had a lorger option of classes or something. And i wish colleges were a lot easier to get into. Right now the only class I am taking that I think i will use a lot in life is marketing and biology. English we look at stuff like themes and i dont care at all about it.

yea, sorry to all the guys that have failed shit - but highschool was designed to make sure that even the dumbest kid can pass... if you fail a class you got noone but yourself to blame - fuck, you don't even have to be there every day (i went the average of like 2-3 days a week last year - even took off to go skiing while i was suposed to write my exams)
